Lyon, France : 18 - 20 March 2025
At the EACR, we know that conferences are about more than just hearing the latest research. Our events are well-known for providing excellent opportunities for networking, interaction and discussion. Here are some of the features you can look forward to at the EACR conference on Persister Cells: from Bacteria to Cancer.
Tuesday 18 March, 13:10-13:55
Is it really possible to give a definition of persister cells? This opening session of the conference will be led by all four members of our Scientific Programme Committee - Yaara Oren (Tel Aviv University, Israel), Ultan McDermot (AstraZeneca, UK), Caroline Robert (Gustave Roussy, France) & Mariangela Russo (University of Torino, Italy) - who will come together to discuss the aims of the meeting and the key questions in the field. Interaction is encouraged and we hope to be able to take lots of questions from the audience, as we lay the foundations for the conference in our aim to foster community and collaboration in this rapidly developing area.
Tuesday 18 March, 17:30-18:15
A welcome drinks reception will be held on Tuesday evening to give participants the opportunity to meet new colleagues and reconnect with friends. A light buffet will be served for all participants and exhibitors to enjoy. The trade exhibition will be open at this time, and there is the opportunity to continue networking and view posters.
Tuesday 18 March, 18:15-19:45
Wednesday 19 March, 13:40-15:10
There are two dedicated 90-minute Poster Discussion Sessions in the programme. At these times, the presenters for that session should stand by their posters to discuss their work with other participants and invited speakers. As well as the dedicated sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, there will also be additional poster viewing opportunities each morning from 08:15 where posters can be freely browsed.
Wednesday 19 March, 18:10-18:40
Join us for this interactive session, led by our Chair of the meeting Yaara Oren, as we step away from the science to discuss the challenges of managing a healthy work life balance as a young scientist. Attendees will be encouraged to send in questions prior to this session which will then be discussed by our panel. Come along to gain some brilliant insight and advice from conference speakers and fellow attendees.
Alongside fantastic scientific content, this conference will feature a small industry exhibition held within the poster area. The exhibition is an opportunity for researchers and companies working in fields relevant to the conference topic to connect and network. Visit the stands during the programme breaks and meet friendly product experts to find out how they can help with your current or upcoming projects. Wednesday 19 March, 19:30 (Optional ticketed event)
The Conference Dinner will take place on the final night of the meeting. It will be an excellent opportunity for participants and speakers to get to know each other in a relaxed and informal environment. Smart dress required.
