A postdoctoral position is offered at the OnTarget Group led by professor Silve Vicent at CIMA-University of Navarra (Macaya et al, Nat Comms 2023: Entrialgo-Cadierno et al, Molecular Cancer 2023; Erice et al, Clin Cancer Res 2023; Lasheras-Otero, J Inves Dermat 2022; Vallejo et al, J Hepatology 2021; Valencia et al, J Clin Invest 2020; Roman et al, Mol Cancer 2018; Roman et al, Cancer Res 2018; Vallejo et al, Nat Comms 2017). This is an industry-funded position to work on the characterization and molecular dissection of novel antitumor therapies in mutant KRAS-driven cancers.
The project will require, among other tasks: generation of new tumor models using the CRISPR/Cas9 technology, testing of novel combinatorial therapies, and dissection of the mechanism of action for nominated genes and/or drug combinations using high-throughput (multiplex cytometry and IF, RNAseq, scRNAseq, proteomics and/or metabolomics) and focused approaches.
We are looking for a self-motivated, resilient, autonomous person with team work and communication skills, and the ability to work in various projects.
You should have, or (be about to obtain) a PhD in Cell Biology, Cancer Medicine, Immunology or other related discipline, with excellent research track record. Training in animal work will be a plus.
You will be responsible for taking decisions regarding the project, obtaining data and planning future experiments. It is expected that you will be an innovative individual with an interest in applying your research skills to a challenging project, and willing to learn new techniques.
You will also be expected to publish your results in a peer-reviewed journal.
The post is for 1 year, renewable up to 3 years, and is expected to start on September 1st, 2024.
