Who can apply for a Travel Bursary?
Student applicants must be registered EACR / BACR members on a PhD or equivalent programme and submit an abstract for poster presentation. A letter of support from the student applicant's supervisor is required.
‘Early career’ researchers are required to provide a letter of support from their team leader or equivalent post-holder.

What does a Travel Bursary include?
The Bursary pays for residential registration in a standard room and all meals for the duration of the meeting. Necessary travel expenses for economy flights/second class rail fares will also be reimbursed to a maximum of £150 UK and £250 Europe/ROW.

Can I get a receipt for my payment to attend the meeting?
Receipts are automatically generated through the registration process. However, if you have not received one this can be obtained by contacting the Conference Contact for Registrations; Barbara Cavilla.

How will I find out if my abstract is accepted?
All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Programme Committee and successful delegates will be notified of their poster or oral presentation (Research Award) after the 20th May 2009. You will receive an email confirming that we have received your abstract.

When does the conference start and finish?
The Chromatin and Cancer Meeting starts at 1400 on Monday (Registration 0830 – 1300) and ends at 1215 on Wednesday.
The Transcription and Cancer Meeting starts at 1300 on Wednesday (Registration 1030 – 1200) and ends mid afternoon at 1430 on Friday.

I’m attending both meetings back to back. Do I need to register separately or change rooms?
Delegates attending both meetings will only need to register once in the College Foyer from 0830 to 1300 on Monday 6th July 2009 and the same accommodation is retained throughout the meeting.

What size should my poster be?
Poster Boards are 1m by 2m in Portrait. Your poster should be no greater than 90cm x 140cm in Portrait.

How do I attach my poster?
You can attach your poster with drawing pins or double sided Velcro tape which will be provided for you.

You must take it down by 2100 each evening to allow for the next session.
Is free internet available throughout the conference?
Wireless internet is available free of charge throughout the conference in all communal areas, but not in bedrooms. Please note that to use the free internet in your room you will require a standard Ethernet cable. While we will carry a small stock for purchase please do bring your own to ensure you have free internet access available 24hrs a day.

Is there any car parking at the conference venue?

What methods of payment can I use?
You can pay registration and accommodation by credit card, cheque or bank transfer. Credit cards accepted are: Visa, Mastercard and Maestro. AMERICAN EXPRESS is not accepted. Cheques must be in UK currency (GPB). See ‘Registration & Payment’ for full details.

Does registration include meals?
Meals are included for both residential and non-residential participants. If you choose registration without accommodation, this covers tea/coffee breaks, lunch and drinks reception.

Is it possible to include extra nights’ accommodation in the residential package?
Yes it is. Should you require accommodation for extra nights before and after the meeting please contact the Conference Secretariat prior to submitting your registration form. This is at an additional cost and is payable in advance.

Is it easy to see more of Cambridge outside of the conference venue?
Yes it is. Churchill College is a quick 10 minute, or more leisurely 15 minute, walk to the river at Trinity Hall via Burrell’s Walk and the historic centre. There are also nearby public transport routes. More information is available through Churchill’s website and Visitor information.

Are there any recreational facilities available at Churchill College?
Yes. All delegates will have free access and use of the onsite gymnasium. The College itself also has extensive grounds.
