2010 EACR Cancer Researcher Award Lecture
This prestigious award lecture (of 20 minutes duration) is presented annually at EACR meetings.
- 2,000 Euro plus expenses (travel, accommodation and congress fees) are awarded
- Applications are invited from cancer researchers from European countries with no more than than15 years post doctoral experience, for presentation at EACR-21 Oslo, Norway 26 – 29 June 2010
- Applicants must be a member of the EACR
- The closing date is the 31st December 2009

Cancer Award Lecture 2009
Fabrizio d'Adda di Fagagna has been awarded the 2009 EACR Cancer Researcher Award Lecture. Fabrizio will give his lecture at ECCO15 34 ESMO Multidisciplinary Congress in Berlin on the morning of 22nd September 2009.

Cancer Award Lecture 2008
The EACR Cancer Researcher Award Lecture 2008 was given by Simon Boulton at EACR 20. His report 'RTEL is an anti-recombase that impacts on genome stability and cancer’ which appeared in the EACR Newsletter 2009 can be viewed here.

Cancer Award Lecture 2007
The Cancer Researcher Award Lecture 2007 was given by Thomas Helleday at ECCO 14 in Barcelona and his report “Exploiting cancer-specific lesions to target cancer” which appeared in the EACR Newsletter 2008 can be viewed here.

2010 Mike Price Fellowship
The Mike Price Fellowship is Sponsored by EACR and ECCO - The European Cancer Organisation.
The Mike Price Fellowship exists to enable cancer researchers to visit a European Institution in order to undertake a specific project related to cancer research, from basic science to treatment or care.
- Applications will be accepted from European cancer researchers with no more than 10 years post doctoral experience
- Applicants should have worked actively in oncology for at least two years and they should possess a doctorate degree or the equivalent medical qualification
- Applicants will have been a member of EACR for a minimum of 12 months at the time of application
- Proposed projects may be related to any aspect of cancer research, from basic science to treatment or care
- The duration of the Fellowship will be from 3 to 6 months and may be comprised of one or two visits
- The value of the award will be up to 12,000 Euro and will cover travel expenses to and from the host institution and an agreed stipend
- Applicants must arrange for a letter of invitation and approval of the project from the host institution to be included with their application
- The closing date for applications is 31st December 2009 and applicants will be notified of the award within 3 months of the closing date

The Mike Price Fellowship 2008
Travel fellowships
This fellowship scheme is intended to assist cancer researchers to advance their research.
- The scheme specifically designed to assist student members registered on a PhD or equivalent programme, and Active members with less than ten years post-doctoral experience – including late entrants to cancer research
- The scheme is open to those who have been Student or Active members of the Association for at least 12 months prior to the application and all applicants must be sponsored by two members of the EACR
- The value of each award is up to 2,500 Euros
- Longer-Stay Awards: Where a longer fellowship is desirable, perhaps comprising two periods of research collaboration, EACR will provide 50% match funding up to 4,000 Euros. Applicants must clearly indicate the source of match funding on such applications as EACR will wish to make contact with the co-funders
- There are three deadlines each year for the submission of applications
- 31 March
- 31 July
- 30 November
- Applicants will be notified of the award approximately two months after each deadline.

Meeting bursaries
This scheme is designed to assist members of the European Association for Cancer Research to attend EACR-21
- All applicants must submit an abstract for the meeting
- The scheme is specifically designed to support the attendance of student members, and members with less than ten years post-doctoral experience – including late entrants to cancer research
- Applications are invited from researchers who have been Active members of the Association for at least 6 months prior to the application and Student members, of at least 3 months standing, who are registered on a PhD or equivalent programme
- An award may be made to the value of 600-1200 Euro (weighted in relation to estimated travel costs). This grant will be used to assist with the cost of accommodation and travel to support full attendance at EACR-21. Funding to meet the cost of early-rate or student membership registration is included in the award. (If a registration has already been purchased, the cost will be reimbursed to successful bursary applicants)

EACR Meeting Bursary for attendance at EACR20, Lyon 5-8 July 2008
A record number of applications for Meeting Bursaries were received (95) and the scheme was extended to support the attendance of 29 Young Researchers.
We welcomed Meeting Bursary winners from Armenia, Australia, Belarus, Brazil, Czech Republic, Finland, France (3), Germany (4), Hungary, Italy (2), Russia, Spain (4), Switzerland, The Netherlands and the UK (6).
